David arranged a murder to cover adultery. Peter publicly denied three times that he knew Jesus. Paul, before his conversion, hunted Christians and put them in prison. These are not minor figures in the margins; they are among the heaviest names in the book. And Scripture does not quietly omit what they did — it records it in detail. Why in detail? Because a book that kept only respectable people would be useless to the people who need it most. When you say you cannot believe it covers what you did, there is an assumption hidden in that sentence: that forgiveness is graded by size, and small things reach it while large ones do not. The gospel does not work that way. It is not that your wrong was small enough to be forgiven; it is that the cost has already been paid, and the one who paid it knows exactly what you did. That is precisely why it holds for you: his forgiveness was never built on underestimating you. Practically: first, say it to God specifically, not vaguely. Second, tell one mature believer or pastor you trust — not to obtain forgiveness, but because never having told anyone is itself still injuring you. Shame lives on concealment.
