Sharing Your Testimony: Telling God's Work in Three Movements
2026-07-18
Many believers say, "I'm not eloquent; I can't evangelize." Yet there is one thing everyone has and no one can refute — your testimony. The blind man in John 9 said only: "One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I see."
The simplest structure has three movements:
1. Before Christ: my old condition. No need to dramatize sin's details; name the real lack — emptiness, fear, pride, chains you could not break.
2. Meeting Christ: the turning point. Who shared the gospel? Which verse pierced you? Where did you pray to receive Him? Concrete time and place make the story credible.
3. After Christ: real change. Not "smooth sailing ever since," but "an anchor in the storm." Honestly naming ongoing struggles makes it stronger, not weaker.
Four tips: keep it under three minutes; drop church jargon outsiders cannot parse; God is the protagonist, not you; end by asking, "Have you ever thought about these things?"
Write your testimony down and share it in the community — it may be the light someone has waited years to see.
